Coffee Museum Chikmagalur – The Coffee Yatra Museum : An initiative of the Coffee Board of India. The museum is an attempt to create a thematic display of the coffee history, processes like picking, drying and grinding along with the different varieties so that the visitors can get an understanding of the painstaking procedures and the trajectory of the beverage in the country. One floor is dedicated to a gallery with pictures and exhibits in clean glass cases and a vivid description. There are short video presentations, which make the story of coffee easy to assimilate. There is also a laboratory where one can see the demonstration of grinding and other paraphernalia used in coffee processing. This is shown by an in-house expert. The museum is one the best depictions of the world of coffee in India. Only if there was a coffee tasting session, and the trip to Coffee Museum would be an all-encompassing experience. The museum is closed on weekends, which is unfortunate as most of the travellers are weekend holiday makers from Bangalore and other close by areas.
